Onder deze titel brachten de klassieke platenboeren ooit twee verzamel-cd's uit. Op die schijven was een keur aan barokmuziek uit verschillende substromingen te horen.
Dit concert lijkt hetzelfde concept te volgen. We horen muziek die reikt van de vroegbarok tot de laatbarok en van alles er tussenin. Duits, Italiaans, Frans, klaviermuziek, ensembles... het zit er allemaal in. Musica Viva kon het natuurlijk ook allemaal.
Onzes inziens heeft het weinig zin om alle werken apart te belichten. Ze zijn allemaal belangrijk en allemaal de moeite meer dan waard, zowel de bekende als de minder bekende meesters.
