Toen Leander Schlegel overleed, liet hij zijn nagenoeg voltooide Tweede Strijkkwartet na. Dat kwartet heeft zo’n 105 jaren in een archief gelegen. De wereldpremière van het Tweede Strijkkwartet is in Schlegels geboorteplaats Oegstgeest.
