Eugen d'Albert

D'Albert

Onze Componist van de Maand januari is Eugen d'Albert. Dinsdag 20 januari van 18.00 tot 19.00 hoort u alles over hem van Agnes van der Horst.

Hij werd 150 jaar geleden in Schotland geboren als zoon van een Frans-Italiaanse vader en een Engelse moeder. Hij werd gedoopt als Eugène, Francis, Charles.

Als twintiger reisde hij naar Oostenrijk. Vanaf die tijd wilde hij niets meer met zijn Engelse afkomst te maken hebben en besloot Duitser te worden. Vandaar dat hij meestal Eugen d’Albert genoemd wordt.
