In De Vorige Eeuw op 1 januari 2019 om 20:00 uur:

Charles Ives was een Amerikaanse componist, die leefde van 1874 tot 1954.

Hij wordt over het algemeen als de eerste componist uit de VS van internationale betekenis gezien. De werken die hij schreef werden tijdens zijn leven nauwelijks uitgevoerd.

Elke eerste dinsdag van de maand is er een nieuwe aflevering over deze raadselachtige componist. We beginnen op 1 januari 2019 met "the early years".
