Pianist én componist: Marc-André Hamelin.

Sonoor 1 september 16 uur.Marc-André Hamelin (1961) geniet vooral faam als virtuoze pianist, die zich niet tot het standaardrepertoire beperkt, maar die de zoektocht, uitvoering en opname van het onbekende koestert. Intussen zijn al zo’n 130 cd’s van hem uitgebracht. Als componist is hij wellicht minder arrivé, maar het woord veelbelovend zou hem tekort doen. Hamelin staat vaak op de schouders van de oude meesters, wier werken hij citeert in zijn pianostukken, maar ook in vrije navolging tot een veelzijdige synthese vernieuwt.
