Pocket Concerts (1) - Suzan Veneman & Timothy Banchet
Coming to you from the studios of the Concertzender / World of Jazz: Pocket Concerts. In this edition: Suzan Veneman and Timothy Banchet.
Since winning the Princess Christina Competition in 2010, trumpeter and composer Suzan Veneman has become a prominent voice in the Dutch jazz scene. She brings a wide-ranging musical vision to each of the distinctive groups she performs with, including the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw, BvR Flamenco Big Band, Zack Lober’s NO FILL3R, Iman Spaargaren's Undercurrent Trio, Zinder, and her own Suzan Veneman Sextet.
Timothy Banchet (b. 1987) began playing piano at age four. With roots in a home filled with records, he first made his name as a versatile sideman. In recent years, his powerful, original playing—steeped in jazz tradition—has brought him into the spotlight as a compelling soloist and bandleader.
This Pocket Concert offers a warm and intimate encounter between two standout voices in contemporary Dutch jazz.
Filmed and recorded live in March 2025.
