Short Ride

In 1986 schreef John Adams Short Ride in a Fast Machine, een fanfare voor orkest die al snel uitgroeide tot een showpiece van de minimal music. Naast Adams waren er in de twintigste eeuw nog heel wat componisten die gefascineerd raakten door vervoer, of dat nu per auto, te voet of met het vliegtuig is. Met muziek van Boudewijn Buckinx, Erik Satie, Heitor Villa-Lobos, Francis Poulenc, Arthur Honegger en Steve Reich.
