Vandaag een aflevering over DAVID “FATHEAD” NEWMAN. De geliefde tenor, alt en baritonsaxofonist en fluitist kwam uit Texas, had een aardse maar moderne stijl en een grote bluesy sound. Hij is bekend vanwege zijn werk met Ray Charles en bouwde ondertussen een gedegen jazzcarrière op. Je hoort solowerk met onder andere Ray Charles, Hank Crawford, Marcus Belgrave, Milt Turner, Wynton Kelly, Brother Jack McDuff, Rein de Graaff en John Hicks.
